The Human Resources Department at the San Diego Zoo is seeking a dynamic individual to work in a fast paced, high volume work environment as a Human Resources Representative. This position will perform administrative, customer service, HRIS functions and support the day-to-day operations of the HR Department and to work closely with all departments within the Zoo organization. Technical ability to operate and maintain various office equipment and systems is required. The ideal candidate must have knowledge of State and Federal labor laws including HIPAA guidelines. Excellent verbal/written communication and organizational skills are necessary. Ability to multi-task and work effectively with others in a team environment is required. Selected candidate must have two years of administrative or Human Resources experience. HR certification or pursuing an HR certificate is a plus. The selected candidate must have the ability to work with and maintain confidential information. Proficiency with MS Word and Excel is essential. Knowledge of PowerPoint is a plus. Public speaking and/or excellent presentations skills are necessary. Knowledge of working in cloud-based technology is required. Dayforce is a plus. Additional expectations for this position include a positive attitude, ability to be flexible and step in to a variety of roles within the HR office environment, provide great customer service and exemplify the highest standard of work ethics and professionalism in behavior and dress.
