POSITION TITLE: Talent Acquisition Manager
POSITION SUMMARY:
The Talent Acquisition Manager manages the Talent Acquisition team, affirmative action plan (AAP), equal employment opportunity (EEO) programs and general People Team (HR) activities in support of the Institute. This role oversees the talent acquisition process, and on-boarding of new employees; manages the ATS (Applicant Tracking System); and collaborates with the leadership in the areas of budgeting, staff development, and projects.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
- Manages Talent Acquisition to deliver a high level of customer service while ensuring compliance with state and federal laws, company guidelines, policies and procedures.
- Manages staff appropriately to meet the needs of the Institute by providing timely, compliant and innovative talent acquisition programs.
- Provides guidance and direction on the recruitment process including job classification and posting requirements, sourcing, screening, pre-employment checks, compliance, offers of employment, and on-boarding.
- Manages the ATS configuration, system maintenance and upgrades,
- Proactively develops and maintains an effective recruitment strategy for scientific and administrative support positions, including selection and hiring processes to hire the most qualified individuals in a timely and compliant manner.
- Stays abreast of current relevant state and federal employment laws and latest developments in recruitment strategies, techniques, HR programs and technologies as well as AAP, EEOC, and OFCCP compliance. Modifies systems and processes in response to changes in regulations.
- Coaches, counsels and guides faculty, managers and administrative staff regarding the recruitment process, policy interpretation, associated procedures and application of relative laws and regulations.
- Recommends solutions to employment issues based on knowledge of policies, established practices and procedures, and applicable laws and regulations.
- Monitors and summarizes recruitment metrics including ‘dashboard’ reports for measuring the effectiveness of Recruitment’s efforts and results in customer service, quality and responsiveness.

REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor's degree in a related field of study preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of HR experience, including at least 3 years of experience in Talent Acquisition.
- 2 years supervisory experience.
- Possess strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to adapt your style to suit the audience.
- Maintain strict confidentiality and discretion when dealing with sensitive issues and information.
- Be analytically driven with excellent project management and organizational skills.
- Display knowledge and proficiency with HRIS systems, especially UKG (a plus).
- Demonstrate proficient skills in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- This is an on-campus position requiring 4 days per week working onsite from our La Jolla campus.
COMPENSATON:
The expected hiring range for this position is $130,000 to $147,000/annually, commensurate with experience. Consideration will be given to experience that exceeds the listed requirements.
