    JOB SUMMARY

    Provide HR leadership to identify, design, implement and measure employee training and development programs to align with identified university priorities. Participate in implementation and development of positive employee relations practices in collaboration with the AVP for Human Resources

    JOB STATUS

    Time: Full time

    RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Conduct appropriate needs assessment to determine training program priorities and plans
    • Assist in developing strategies to integrate training initiatives with department, division and universities priorities
    • Manage the HR training software system including preventing sexual harassment and Title IX training
    • Work with HRIS Coordinator to track communication and participation in mandatory and voluntary training and development programs
    • Work with AVP for HR and campus leaders in developing and implementing leadership development programs to include opportunities for succession planning, development, growth and mentoring options
    • Maintain training calendar focused on employee skill development, compliance and supervisor development
    • Develop, manage and evaluate regular supervisor and new supervisor training options focusing on areas of compliance, talent management and leadership development
    • Develop materials and resources for new training opportunities in line with needs assessment and calendar
    • Research trends and emerging compliance needs to plan for future training programs
    • Oversee training logistics including technical and venue selection and setup
    • Identify internal and external trainer options for in person or virtual programs
    • Manages participation feedback reports and evaluates data driven updates to training solutions
    • Provide employee relations support and policy interpretation for university community to include supervisor and staff consultation on conflict resolution and compliance concerns
    • Provide consultation to supervisors on appropriate strategies to address performance management and disciplinary concerns
    • Assist in conducting workplace investigations, preparing reports and recommendations
    • Advises and works with AVP for HR on all risk sensitive issues including compliance concerns, disciplinary and termination processes
    • Establish and maintain effective relationships with faculty and staff at all levels of the university
    • Collaborate with HR staff to provide positive HR services to enhance employee relations throughout the University community

    QUALIFICATIONS

    • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business or related field, Masters degree in related field preferred
    • Minimums of three years of increasingly responsible administrative experience in Human Resources with a concentration in training and employee relations strongly preferred
    • Professional HR Certification preferred
    • Demonstrated presentation skills and experience in designing and delivering training programs
    • Developed skills in conflict resolution, problem solving and workplace investigations
    • Effective communication skills and ability to build positive relationships and develop trust and rapport with all levels of university community
    • Ability to respect and maintain appropriate confidentiality. 
    • Knowledge of state and federal employment regulations
    • Understanding of and commitment to the spiritual mission of the university
