    Welk is looking for a Human Resources Generalist to support our Sales team.

    By adhering to Welk Resorts, iServe standards, the HR Generalist under general supervision is responsible for performing HR-related duties on a professional level and partners closely with senior HR leadership.  This position carries out responsibilities in the following functional areas:  employment law compliance, employee relations, training, performance management, recruitment, hiring and onboarding, policy implementation and enforcement.

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities (other duties may be assigned):

         Resort Wide:

    «  Consistently follow the Welk i-Serve service standards at all times.

    «  Follow all Company and department policies and procedures.

    «  Attend safety meetings, keep the workplace in safe condition, and work in a safe manner.

    «  Adhere to attendance policy and be prompt and timely.

    «  Propose ideas to improve and streamline services, systems, and/or procedures.


    «  Administers various human resource plans and procedures for all Company Team Members; assists in the development and implementation of personnel policies and procedures.

    «  Provides training/coaching to HR team on Employee Relations Investigation processes and procedures.

    «  Manages high level and/or complex Employee Relations issues and investigation for entire company.

    «  Assist in Compliance projects for Sales team and Human Resources initiatives.

    «  Monitors HR processes for effectiveness and makes recommendations for streamlining process.

    «  Writes, edits and enhances internal communication materials, including employee handbooks, emails and investigation notes.

    «  Researches and stays current with employment law requirements and proposes changes to ensure the Company is operating appropriately.

    «  Communicates benefit information to associates.

    «  Assist in recruiting, interviewing and selection of candidates for the Human Resources Department.

    «  Facilitate all phases of the recruitment process.  Screen and route resumes, schedule interviews, conduct interviews, recommend qualified candidates to department managers for further interviews, conduct reference checks, present offers, secure acceptances and send out no thank you letters.

    «  Manages the offer process, work with HR management on establishing salary ranges, other incentives available, start date, etc.

    «  Resolves complex employee relation issues.  Conducts effective, thorough and objective investigations.

    «  Work with management to handle disciplinary actions including performance improvement plans.

    «  Counsel employees on issues as they arise while balancing company and employee interests.

    «  Staying aware of pulse of the employee base.

    «  Provides day-to-day performance management guidance to line management (coaching, counseling, career development).

    «  Oversees annual performance appraisal process, working with managers to complete.

    «  Processes employment changes and terminations and coordinates with payroll as needed.

    «  Maintains human resource information system records and complies reports from the database.

    «  Maintains personnel files.

    «  Performs other related duties as required and assigned.


    To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.  The requirements following this paragraph are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.  Ability to develop and execute sourcing strategies for the recruitment of experienced professionals at all levels.  Strong professional presence with proven ability to effectively deal with senior-level management.  Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.  


    Education and/or Experience:

    Bachelor’s Degree and five (5) to seven (7) year’s human resource experience.

    Must have three (3) to five (5) years of ER investigation experience.

    Extensive knowledge of employment law and regulation such as Fereral/state employe laws, regulations and requirments, EEOC, FLSA, and DOL through education and/or experience.

    Experience working in the hospitality industry is a plus. 

    Must be proficient in Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.

    Must be highly organized.

    Excellent verbal and written communication. 

    Ability to work autonomously and independently, while contributing to team initiatives.

    Demonstrated competencies including collaboration, negotiation skills and the ability to effectively influence others to adopt a course of action on critical, complex or sensitive information.

    Must have experience with HRIS systems.  (UltiPro and/or CornerStone preferred)
