    Under direction of the Director, Talent Management, the Human Resources Generalist is responsible for performing specialized duties on a professional level of various complexity and works closely with staff and management to execute on identified needs. This position carries out responsibilities in the following functional areas: talent acquisition, training, engagement, diversity and inclusion and affirmative action planning, policy implementation and other related duties.

    This position will have an active role in revising and developing programs that will have a direct impact on our people culture. The ideal candidate will have a strong sense of project planning, be an effective communicator and bring creativity as well as commitment to the role.  We also seek someone with a strong analytical orientation able to capture, consolidate and interpret data.  The position carries a portfolio of open recruitments and partners with departments and labs to help fill their openings.

    Primary Responsibilities

    • Identifies and implements appropriate systems, programs, tools and processes to improve service to management and employees.
    • Creates, designs and distributes employee communication and collateral to effectively communicate with the workforce. Drafts, shoots, edits and maintains employee and manager video communications.
    • Delivers training, including for new employees and other populations as needed.
    • Monitors mandatory and optional training for all employees, affiliates and supervisors. Maintains and updates training records.
    • Develops project plans and timelines then executes on delivering initiatives, programs and events.
    • Administers surveys, including the annual employee engagement survey, analyzes data on various programs, summarizes and reports findings.
    • Conducts research to support initiatives, processes and projects. Contributes to project implementations and communication plans.
    • Maintains a portfolio of open recruitments per business needs and provides full-cycle recruitment support to hiring managers.
    • Professionally represents the Institute by attending or hosting appropriate external and internal events related to employee engagement and recruitment.
    • Supports special projects as required.

    Required Experience

    • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, human resources, psychology or a related field; and three year’s experience in a human resources environment OR equivalent education, training and/or experience from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities have been attained is required.
    • One year experience in conducting full-cycle recruitment required.
    • Previous experience in project management/project coordination preferred.
    • Previous experience in event management, communications or public relations preferred.

    Knowledge, Skills and/or Abilities

    • General knowledge of employment laws, wage and hour laws, HR practices and policies required.
    • Proven communication skills, both verbal and written and excellent relationship management skills and people acumen.
    • Experience leading meetings and presenting to groups.
    • Demonstrates critical thinking and creativity when responding to a variety of situations
    • Ability to handle confidential situations with a high degree of integrity
    • Work independently as well as in a team environment
    • Possess strong attention to detail, time management and organizational skills
    • Project management knowledge and application.
    • Professional proficiency in Microsoft Office with strong data analysis and excel skills with ability to review and interpret data and make recommendations.
