    HR Manager

    Position Overview

    The HR Manager is newly created position that will report directly to the CFO. The HR Manager will provide day-to-day support for a variety of human resources activities within our growing organization. The ideal candidate will have experience in all areas of the HR function including benefit administration, recruitment, compensation, employee relations, performance management and training.

    Key Responsibilities

    • ·         Responsible for the coordination and delivery of the onboarding process, including data entry for all new hires, I-9 verification and coordinating background checks with third partner vendor.
    • ·         Conducts new hire orientation.
    • ·         Partner with PEO (TriNet) to ensure compliance with all state and federal rules and regulations.
    • ·         Function as Payroll backup for Controller.
    • ·         Oversee employee file maintenance in compliance with record keeping requirements, both internal as well as regulatory.
    • ·         Manage the full cycle recruitment process including candidate sourcing, screening, and interviewing, working collaboratively with leaders including assisting with writing job descriptions.
    • ·         Administer benefits and safety programs in conjunction with external consultants as necessary.
    • ·         Respond to internal and external HR related inquiries or requests and escalate as needed.
    • ·         Administer performance management process.
    • ·         Coordinate required Harassment Awareness training with TriNet.
    • ·         Track visas and work permits.
    • ·         In conjunction with Office Manager, administer and track Covid-19 protocols and ensure policy is followed.
    • ·         Responsible for managing off-boarding process and establishing exit surveys and metrics.
    • ·         Ensure Employee Handbook is kept up to date and relevant.
    • ·         Other duties as assigned.

    Qualifications

    • ·         Bachelor’s Degree required, in Human Resources or Business preferred.
    • ·         Minimum of 5 years of equivalent HR experience.
    • ·         1-2 years of experience running payroll for a small company.
    • ·         Previous biotech experience helpful, but not required.
    • ·         Previous TriNet/PEO experience helpful, but not required.
    • ·         Effective organizational and problem-solving skills.
    • ·         Ability to maintain confidentiality.
    • ·         Ability to deal with and meet deadlines.
    • ·         Keen attention to detail.
    • ·         Customer service attitude to support and resolve employee questions.
    • ·         Ability to multitask and be flexible.
    • ·         Solid communication skills, both written and verbal.
    • ·         Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
    • ·         Internet savvy and ability to do research on HR projects.

    Physical Demands and Work Environment

    This is an indoors position requiring the ability to type and use a computer. While performing the responsibilities of the job, the employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, reach with arms and hands, climb or balance, and to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The physical effort required is sedentary, lifting of up to 10 pounds.

    While performing the responsibilities of the job, these work environment characteristics are representative of the environment the job holder will encounter. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable people with disabilities to perform the essential functions of the job.

    While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to certain hazardous materials. The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet to moderate. The passage of employees through the work area is average and normal.
