Speaker Profile: 

Blake Hern is the Chief Information Security Officer for Encore Capital Group, the world’s largest debt buyer.  Encore holds the personal data of approximately 1 in 5 Americans over 18-years old, and Blake’s team is responsible for securing this data.  His team works closely with the largest banks in the United States (from whom they purchase the debt portfolios), industry professional organizations, law enforcement and  intelligence agencies, and their counterparts in the San Diego area to aid in the fight against threats to their company, the San Diego community, and the financial services ecosystem.  Prior to joining Encore, Blake worked in the Risk & Assurance practice of KPMG LLP, which included a stint in KPMG’s San Diego Office. He earned a Master’s Degree of Accountancy from California State University – Fresno and a B.S. in Business Administration & Accounting from the University of Kansas, and also holds multiple information security certifications and is a Certified Public Accountant.
